WikiLeaks publishes nearly 5,000 documents on Marine Le Pen and François Fillon

While scandals erupt around the candidates for the French presidential election, Wikileaks has released more than 3,600 documents on François Fillon and more than 1,100 files on Marine Le Pen.

“From our archives: 1,138 documents on French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen”, announced the website’s Twitter account, with a link to view them.

This came right after Wikileaks accouned 3,630 documents about Republician candidate François Fillon.

They also retweeted about an invite to a dinner party Emmanuel Macron sent to then US Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

The website of Julian Assange puts oil on the fire, while the two candidates find themselves at the heart of fictitious job scandals before their presidential campaigns. The satirical newspaper Le Canard Enchaine says the wife of François Fillon, Penelope Fillon, was paid around 500,000 euro as assistant to her husband in the National Assembly, though disputes she did the work she was paid for.

Marine Le Pen is accused of having employed her chief of staff and former sister-in-law Catherine Griset and her bodyguard Thierry Légier as assistants in the European Parliament. According to the European Anti-Fraud Office, it would have paid them nearly € 350,000 out of Parliament’s funds.
